MENTORING OPPORTUNITY

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with leading industry creatives under the guidance of The Royal Lyceum Theatre and WorkUp.

CAREERS WE ARE FOCUSING ON

Marketing, Producing, Fundraising, Creative Learning and Technical Theatre

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE ON THE MENTORSHIP

  • Mentoring runs between April and October 2025.

  • Mentored by one creative for the duration of the program.

  • You will meet your mentor in person, once a month for 6 consecutive months (At a mutually convenient time/date).

  • Includes a full days pay to shadow your mentor for a day.

  • You will have ongoing guidance and mentoring with WorkUp monthly, alongside your mentorship.
    This includes, receiving tailored advice from industry professionals to navigate career goals and development.

  • Enhanced Industry Exposure: Gain direct insights and practical experience through shadowing and external outings related to personal interests.

  • Skill Development: Improve critical skills and career strategies through hands-on activities and mentor interactions.

  • Networking Opportunities: Build connections with industry professionals and peers, expanding professional networks and opportunities.

  • Inspiration and Motivation: Find inspiration through engagement with mentors and exploration of new creative environments.

This opportunity is unpaid, but you will receive adequate expenses to cover all food, drink and travel and a days pay at Industry rates when shadowing your mentor.

CRITERIA

  • Over 18

  • No upper age limit

  • Have a keen interest in the arts.

  • No other experience is needed. Just the desire to work in the arts is all we ask.

  • Live in Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

  • This opportunity is for those from working-class backgrounds/ low-income households.

  • Deadline to apply is 5pm on 27th Jan 2025.

  • There will be a first round of interviews over zoom with the team at Work Up in early February. Final interviews will be held on the 12th February 2025.
